An exploration of contemporary hermeneutical theories, including those of Heidegger, Gadamer, Habermas, Ricoeur and Levinas. This is an interdisciplinary course, which integrates aspects of biblical studies with philosophy, semiology and theology. Lecture, discussion. Journals, class participation, assignment, major essay.
