Religious Development with Adolescents

Adolescents are participants in religious education and youth ministry as learners and hearers of the word. Joining with and mentoring adolescents in faith requires an understanding of religious development, the ecclesial context of faith, and cultural supports and challenges to religion, spirituality, and morals in the world and experience of adolescents. The course examines these topics in a way that aims at opening students to their own capacity and call as youth ministers and religious educators. Means of evaluation: Attendance and participation (15%); reflective paper (15%); Seminar leadership (20%); literature search/annotated bibliography (50%).
