TST language courses (French and German) are for graduate students in Theological, Historical, Pastoral, Biblical Studies, or related disciplines, who require reading knowledge in a research language. Students learn the fundamentals of grammar and vocabulary required for translation and reading comprehension. All courses are conducted in English, and assume no previous knowledge in each language.
These courses fulfill TST’s advanced degree admission and program language requirements. Courses are non-credit and not accessed on ROSI. Course offerings are subject to minimum enrolment.
Courses will be held at the TST building, 47 Queen’s Park Crescent East (at the corner of St. Joseph Street).

TST LANGUAGE EXAMINATIONS
One way to meet a language requirement for an AD program is to write and pass an examination administered by the AD Office. Language exams in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Hebrew and Latin are offered two times per year, in September and January. A passing grade for the exams is 70%. (In the Biblical Department, the departmental and expertise exams are administered by the department, and have higher exam grade requirements. Please see the program handbook for more information.)
Date: Tuesday, September 2, 2014, 10:00 - 11:30 am. For those taking two language exams, the second session will run from 11:45 am - 1:15 pm.
Location: Regis College, 100 Wellesley Street West, Classroom C
Fee: $30.00 per exam. This can be paid by personal cheque, Visa credit card, or online through PayPal. Students paying by PayPal must bring their receipt to the examination. Students are encourage to pay their examination fee(s) ahead of time either through PayPal at their convenience, or personal cheque and a Visa credit card are accepted at the AD Office during posted opening times.
Registration: Although you do not need to pre-register for the examinations, you should notify the AD Office at firstname.lastname@example.org by August 28 indicating which language exam(s) you plan to take.
