This lecture explores the processes of decolonization within the educational mission of the Holy Cross Congregation in Bangladesh following the Second Vatican Council. It offers valuable insights for scholars, educators, and students of South Asian history, education, and religious studies.

Speaker:  Dr. Md Shaikh Farid is a Clinical Ethics Fellow at Unity Health Toronto and the University of Toronto, as well as a Visiting Research Scholar at the Toronto School of Theology. He is a professor in the Department of World Religions and Culture at Dhaka University, Bangladesh. In addition to religion, Dr. Farid has an interest in bioethics, with a focus on organ donation, assisted reproductive technologies and palliative care. His recent book, Can the Church be Decolonized? Holy Cross Education in Bangladesh, is published by Springer.
