GCTS Conference Award

The Graduate Centre for Theological Studies (GCTS) Conference Award is designated to support participation in scholarly conferences, e.g., the AAR/SBL, Canadian Congress of the Humanities, and others, and is awarded to a full-time Canadian conjoint degree graduate student who:

  • meets the requirements of the OSOTF (Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund) as outlined on the OSOTF Financial Needs Assessment Form;
  • who requires support for scholarly engagement in an academic conference; and
  • has exhibited excellence in their studies by maintaining first-class standing and satisfactory progress in their program.

All students who have presented or are presenting at a conference between January 1 - August 31, 2025, are encouraged to apply, even if they have previously won a GCTS or TGSA award, however, the petitions committee may choose to prioritize applicants who have not previously won.

TGSA Conference Award

The TST Graduate Students' Association (TGSA) Conference Award is designated to support participation in scholarly conferences, e.g., the AAR/SBL, Canadian Congress of the Humanities, and others, and is awarded to a conjoint graduate degree student who:

  • has not opted-out of the TGSA travel grant awards fee; and
  • has exhibited excellence in their studies by maintaining first-class standing and satisfactory progress in their program.

Students do not need to demonstrate financial need to be eligible for the TGSA award, however, in the case that we receive more applications than the number of available awards, the committee may choose to prioritize applicants who do demonstrate financial need. Completion of the OSOTF form is still required.
