About
Established in 1842, the Faculty of Divinity at Trinity College is one of the oldest centres for Anglican theological education in Canada. The Faculty has a long history of excellence in interdisciplinary theological scholarship and provides education for Christian ministry, general theological education and theological research at the basic degree level (MDiv, MTS) and graduate degree level (MA, ThM, PhD, DMin). Its programs include a concentration in Orthodox and Eastern Christian Studies that is unique to Canada.
Honouring its Anglican tradition in theological education, the Faculty’s curriculum embraces contemporary liturgical, spiritual and pastoral practices and responds to emerging challenges in a multicultural and multi-faith context. Its new “Reimagining Contemporary Ministry” initiative focuses on preparing creative pastoral leaders to meet the complex needs of the contemporary church and rapidly changing society.
Students are provided exceptional opportunities to study with and learn from leading scholars in small classes while they pursue their educational and vocational goals. Whether studying full- or part-time, students from diverse faiths and backgrounds from across Canada and around the world will experience a vibrant, supportive and inclusive community at Trinity College. Generous financial support is also available, including scholarships and bursaries (up to 70% to 100% of domestic tuition costs). As Trinity College is federated with the University of Toronto and a founding member of the Toronto School of Theology, students will also have access to many opportunities across the entire university network.
